Pastoral Transition Update

As we begin the season of Lent together, we step back and reflect on the life of Jesus as Christ begins the journey to the cross. As a church we will for the next several weeks take our time to listen well. We will lean into the scriptures and ask the Holy Spirit to speak to us in new ways when it comes to learning and getting to know the savior.

Join us this coming Sunday at 10:30am for worship, as we look into the scriptures about what it means to live the way of the cross and how we as Christ followers are to reflect the grace of God to our neighbors, the stranger, and to those we love. Especially, those who are looking for signs of hope in a world that is lacking hope. Hope that is found in the saving grace of Christ.

This Sunday we will be saying goodbye to Niki Rodas and her family. Niki has accepted a position to be the new Designated Associate Pastor at the First Presbyterian Church of Granada Hills. We are excited for Niki and grateful for how she has been with us and provided ministry and pastoral support here at BurbankPres over these last few years.

Immediately, following the service, there will be a light reception in the fellowship hall to have some time to bless Niki, Al, and their kids. If you'd like to bring a card for the Rodas family, please bring it to the reception after worship.

We want to welcome a new person to our staff here at church. Maria SobingSobing has joined our staff as the interim church communications coordinator. She started this past Monday in the office and will be helping us during this time of transition with everything related to church communications, church bulletins, social media, weekly emails, and by being a presence in the church office. Welcome Maria!!!

Please continue to pray for our staff, church elders, deacons, and our interim pastor search committee. We know that God walks with us no matter what is happening in our lives. Pray for our interim pastor search committee as they continue to pursue the person that will help walk alongside us during this time of transition.

May the one who comes to us during this Lenten season walk with us and give us hope.

See you Sunday church family,
